Education Activities
When you’re driving down the road, do you know how to safely navigate around bicyclists? Do you know how to safely ride a bicycle on the roads in the New River Valley? Do know how to teach your children to ride safely?
We can help you answer YES to these questions.
Smart Cycling Courses
NRVBA has seven members who are League Certified Instructors by the League of American Bicyclists (LCIs). That means we are certified to teach cyclists to ride safely and motorists to share the road. Whether you are a long-time commuter, an avid club rider or haven’t ridden in years, the Smart Cycling courses can help you increase your knowledge, skill and confidence. Or if you are a business, organization or school that wants to promote or introduce bicycling to your members, we can help you get started. The courses we teach include:
Traffic Skills 101- Traffic Skills 201
- Commuting
- Group Riding
- Share the Road
- Cycling Skills for Parents
- Cycling Skills for Kids
- Safe Routes to School
